While TA'ing some local coding camps, I learned about a game one of our Web Games teachers - Luke Wood - had made during the early days of the COVID pandemic called TP-Scramble. It was a classic .io-style collector game about the days of hoarding toilet paper and escaping COVID infection. It was simple, yes, but fun and charming, and inspired a lot of DragonDungeon.

Eventually, when Luke seemed to express no further interest in maintaining the game, I asked if the DragonDungeon team could keep the servers running (and maybe do a bit of re-theming and modernization work on the game). This is the result of that effort.

Instead of a regular guy trying to escape the COVID pandemic, you're now 8-bit (or maybe two-bit) alcoholic Casey Brock, ravaging the streets of post-apocalyptic East Nowhereville, collecting beers while trying not to get infected with the zombie plague.

Now for the actual game credits: the original TP-Scramble featured programming by Luke Wood and sprites from the libraries of 0x72, Superdark, and ScissorMarks. This re-release features additional programming by me, Samuel Sharp, as well as the art of the talented Leo Ergen from the DragonDungeon team. Additional thanks must be given to Endel for the excellent Colyseus multiplayer server and to HalfTheOpposite for the TypeScript game dev setup used in building the original TP-Scramble.
